How to add an email signature in Gmail
Gmail accepts a rich (HTML) signature if you paste it into the signature editor. Build yours in SignaturePro, copy it, then follow these steps on a computer.
Create your Gmail signature — free →Steps
- Open Gmail on a computer and click Settings (gear icon) → See all settings.
- On the General tab, scroll to Signature and click Create new. Give it a name.
- Click inside the signature box and paste with Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘V (Mac).
- Under Signature defaults, choose the signature for new emails and for replies/forwards.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
Tips
- Paste with Ctrl+V / ⌘V, not “paste as plain text”, or the layout is lost.
- Gmail on phones uses a separate, text-only mobile signature. Use SignaturePro’s “Copy as plain text” for it.
- Images must be hosted on the web to show in Gmail; embedded images are removed.
