How to add an email signature in Apple Mail
Apple Mail on the Mac accepts a pasted rich signature as long as it is not forced to match your default message font.
Create your Apple Mail signature — free →Steps
- Open Mail → Settings (Preferences on older macOS) → Signatures.
- Select your account in the left column and click +.
- Untick “Always match my default message font”.
- Paste into the right-hand box with ⌘V.
- Choose the signature under “Choose Signature”, then close the window.
Tips
- If links appear blue and underlined after pasting, that is Apple Mail’s default link style.
- On iPhone, Settings → Apps → Mail → Signature accepts text only; use “Copy as plain text”.
